Fire Department

Fire Department badgeThe Iron Mountain Fire Department, established in 1879, is a community-focused municipal fire department responsible for a broad range of services. The 20 member department can provide an immediate response to fire or other emergencies 24 hours a day. The department is staffed with 7 full-time professional firefighters and 13 paid part-time professional firefighters. In addition to providing fire suppression, code enforcement, and the ability to respond to hazardous materials incidents, the department provides training to children and other special civic groups through a very popular "Fire Safety House Program".

All of the full-time firefighters are licensed as Medical First Responders.
