The Neighborhood Enterprise Zone, per Public Act 147 of 1992, as amended, provides tax incentives to developers, builders and owners for the development and rehabilitation of residential housing located within eligible distressed communities (District Map). Tax incentives can reduce property taxes by as much as 60% for a period of up to 15 Years. Applications are available and inquiries may be directed to the City Clerk's Office at (906) 774-8530 or email the Clerk-Treasurer. Please note that exemptions for new and rehabilitated facilities are not effective until approved by the State Tax Commission.
