CHANGE IN GARBAGE PICKUP
The annual spring thaw requires a temporary change for garbage pickup. The temporary change is necessary to prevent further damage to alleys. The City of Iron Mountain will begin street side garbage pickup on Monday, March 31, 2014 and conclude on Friday, May 16, 2014. Please note that alley pickup will resume on Monday, May 19, 2014. Info for Freeze-Ups
The city has been receiving an increasing number of freeze ups that are occurring in water/sewer lines on the homeowner's side of service lines. Information is provided below to help homeowners prevent freeze-ups on their side of the service lines.
It is especially important for any residents that have removed the insulating snow pack from boulevards or areas of their yard where water/sewer lines exist to take precautions to prevent costly freeze-ups.
